These dudes Zagadka were added last minute to one of the first shows we ever booked, and we’ve loved them since. They just released a new ep called Quality Creeps — download it free from their Bandcamp page and jam out on some of the tightest riffs from Albuquerque and Adam’s awesomely unique voice.
Alright, usually we feature bands a bit smaller than our long-time favorites Tera Melos, but this free download of Tropic Lame (off their upcoming album) was too good not to feature this week. Take a listen at Rolling Stone’s site and cross your fingers and hope they’ll tour through AZ soon!
One of my favorite electronic acts, Waytansea Point, released some new music recently, and just realized I haven’t featured it here yet. Pinguino Era, his newest album, features some of his best material yet. Download it for free at his Bandcamp page and send him annoying emails about playing shows again.
This week’s free album comes from The Through & Through Gospel Review — the unique side project from Joel Marquard of Gospel Claws and Dear and the Headlights. Joel recorded this full length album of gospel songs over a five year period and released it online for free. The album was recorded to a four-track tape recorder and has some really great tunes on it. Download it here for free.
Came across this release on Bandcamp a week ago and had to share. Mabson Enterprises compiled and shared a release with 43 different artist interpretations/recreations of Carly Rae’s completely stupid track “Call Me Maybe.” Some notable submissions include local inspiration-pop act Treasure Mammal and Dan Deacon’s “Call Me Maybe Acapella 147 Times Exponentially Layered.” Yeah.

After a brief hiatus, we’re back with some more free tunes! This week brought us new music from The Cigs — one of the newest (but already defunct) surf pop acts in Phoenix. We loved their debut album, Full Flavor, and the follow-up album Marble Red doesn’t disappoint. Great short songs by “Jenny Jenkem and Billy Butthash” — download them for free on the KP Records Bandcamp page.
